Scanner

An easy one compared to dirtybobby's load of old gibberish...

I have a scanner which is about 6 years old, and which works a treat with my old iMac, but I want to use it on the PC I bought last year.

However, when I try and install the drivers, I get this message that tells me they've not been tested for compatibility with Windows XP and the whole world will implode if I continue (or, it might say something less spectacular, like my computer will fall on its arse and never get up; I can't remember).

So, will it fook up me computer if I pay no heed to the warnings and install the software, or is it just an empty threat? OR should I contact Epson and ask them for some up-to-date drivers (I've tried downloading them off the Epson site in the hope that the drivers might be new, more compatible ones than on the CD, but no joy)?

I really can't be bothered to buy a new scanner.

Discuss.

Lol, it's just Microsoft. Basically, any driver that the company didn't pay £10,000 to M$ to get approved will make Win XP come up with that message.
It won't break your PC, but it may well cause your TV to detune itself :o

Cool. No need to install it just yet anyway, because my fool of a mate, who was supposed to be supplying me with a 100% legitmate copy of Adobe CS2, forgot to include Photoshop, so I'll be sticking to scanning images into and using PS 5.5 on my shitty old i-Mac for the mo anyway.

When the time comes I shall install the scanner software on my PC with the gay abandon mentioned by DirtyBobby.
