Don't use the one near the train station in Stoke (Grimleys?). They were my vendors solicitor and they were crap, took over a week a time to reply to faxes on the rare occaisions they admitted receiving them.

I used Mark Redlars for both the divorce and house purchase. They were brilliant.

Doesn't someone on the forum have their own estate agency? An online thing? Might only be for letting though.

My old man recommends redlers - Mark's been my personal solicitor for years, although I believe someone else heads up conveyancing there. Anyway they got my parents through buying their house with no issues worth noting.

We've used Hutsby Mees both times we've bought houses in Stafford. Excellent service both times, would definitely use them again.

I've used Gans & Co (020 3535 0099) for over 25yrs they may not be local but their efficiency and workrate is nothing short of astonishing.......

Frisby & Co were recommended to me for my current home buying adventures, and I have no complaints so far.

Agreed. You actually get to deal direct with the solicitor as well which makes a change. Good, friendly, reasonable price (cheapest in Stafford when we used them two years ago). Also when we were gazumped the charges were waved despite us not having another property lined up at that stage.

The only one I would recommend has unfortunately retired (Sue at Jewels).
I would sit on the fence re Mark Redler and Tedstone George and Tedstone, but I think they are all of a one-ness
