Update to "Waze" as I promissed....

I used this to get me to Gosport yesterday. 185 miles each way and it worked PERFECTLY. It found my mum and dad's block of flats whic h a lot of couriers struggle to find by postcode alone. It knew and used a new road that my dad said NONE of his and his friends sat nav updates have yet covered. It even took me an alternative route there due to an accident reported by other "Wazers".

I can't believe this is free! It gets a massive   from me

Today, I went round to a student house, to change a light bulb in a bathroom lamp fitting, which is a little awkward to get into. The lads said that it had been gone for a few days and it was getting a little difficult to piss accurately in the dark. They said that they'd been using the lights on their phones as an aid. One of them said that he's had to download an app to be able to turn the light on - then another confessed that he'd found that he could only operate the light on his phone if he was actually recording a video at the time...

...I made my excuses and left...

One thing that staggered em about Android (and I gather the same on the iPhone?) was the lack of ability to even make a phone call by Voice command without having a Data Connection - something I could do on an Old Nokia Symbian phone.

After much experimentation the only app I've found that works for me is Cyberon - Voice Speed Dial. Fortunately there are only a handful of numbers I occasionally have to call hands free but it does the job. A little money well spent.

Android lost. Just helped me find the OHs phone, nobody was answering and it couldn't get a GPS fix so I got it to say "Where am I" out load then made it call me so I could hear what was happening around it. Luckily it was picked up very quickly and we were told it would be behind the bar in the greyhound.

So not only do we have a phone but also have to go the pub, result!

I should add that you can install it remotely, after you've lost it. Obviously it must be turned on and have an internet connection though, much safer to do it before you lose it!
