I see they've started work, looking forward to it opening.

Doubt it'll be before the year's out?

don't mention the blinds
Plan was to open prior to crimbo, don't appear to be doing a full refurb a la the Rose & Crown....

Walking past tonight it looked like they have stripped it all back and giving it a good refurbishment. I would have thought they would want to open a couple of weeks before Christmas but we'll wait and see.
With 7 Market Square, The Market Vaults and the Rose and Crown all within a short distance it sounds like a good night out. Let's hope they all get enough support.

Had an email back from Black Country Ales;

Hi
Many thanks for your e-mail & kind comments.
We too are looking forward to it opening!
It’s planned to open on Thursday 8th December at 12.00 noon
For information, we concentrate on real ale (10 hand pulls) & the food offer will be fresh cobs, pork pies & scotch eggs.
Hope this helps.
Many thanks
Regards

Well, had a sneaky look inside, as the lights were on and them working all hours.

You do know this is going to be a great place, right?

I only ever went in once, many years ago, can't remember a thing about it, so never really realised how big the place was, but seeing it now, lovely!

I can just imagine it; open fires, cosy corners, Christmas decos, pork pies on the bar, guest ales on tap, jumpers for goal posts...

I'm sure previous clientele (whomever you may be referencing, ruffy'uns?) have set up shop elsewhere.

The new Shrewsbury Arms ready for the Market Vaults, No.7 and Rose & Crown types.
