Some advice for all laptop owners...

I've just had a PM from a forumite who has had a spillage accident which has prompted me to post this...

If you are unlucky enough to ever spill anything into a laptop, IMMEDIATELY pull out the power lead and flip your laptop over and remove the battery - there's usually a sliding catch or two which lock it into place. Have a practise and familiarise yourself with how to remove the battery. Every seconds counts if you spill something into it.

The next stage is to get it to me (or your chosen technician) at the soonest possibility, especially with beer / wine / juices or anything containing sugars as the residue corrodes components inside. The sooner it's stripped apart and professionally cleaned the better the chances of survival.

Better still, don't drink near your computer and save yourself a whole lot of agro!! ;)
