Hi Vegebird74

We might have something suitable for you, starting in September. On Saturday mornings the Sports Hall is going to start running Junior College Sports Superstars. It will offer children a mixture of sports including Futsal (that isn't a spelling mistake. Apparently it is some kind of Brazillian football for children), badminton, table tennis, basketball, netball, multi-skills and dodgeball.

The sessions will run in two age groups with the youngest from 9am-10.30am and older ones from 9am-12pm.

The cost will be £2 per child and if you wish, you can stay and use the gym in the Sports Hall for just £1 extra while your child works out.

The only thing I am not 100% clear on at present, is the age groups involved. I was initially told 5-8 and 9-12 but then that they wanted to start from age 4 in the younger group. The people I need to confirm that with, are currently on holiday but I'd say that there is a strong possibility that 4-year-olds will be included.

The sessions will get underway from the third Saturday in September. We'll be advertising in the local press, on our website etc but I'll also post something on The Forum when I have full info.

I know of a good football coaching course at Walton High School but that's probably a bit out of the way.

You could contact the various local clubs - http://www.staffordbc.gov.uk/activities-and-sports-courses-football - about youth teams but i have a suspicion that these tend to be for 5 and over, i may be wrong. I know that the Stafford Rangers youth teams do a lot of their training at Rowley Park so that might be more useful.

There's also this lot - http://www.littlekickers.co.uk/sign...ports Centre&Fran=56&area=Staffordshire&day=1 - up at Beaconside, again not very convenient but it does say that classes are starting at Stafford College in September so might be worth a look.

The Stafford College sessions posted ^above probably sound the best bet so far.

Hi all

The earlier session on the Saturday morning will definitely be for four-year-olds upwards.

9-10.30am for ages 4-8
10.30-12pm for ages 9-12

Starting from 3rd Saturday in Sept, then every Saturday during term-time.

The big sports hall is also going to be available to hire during the evenings and on Saturdays, from September. I do know that one group had already reserved space based on word of mouth - that might be the Little Kickers mentioned in Withnail's post above.
