I have been to this pub twice now in the last two weeks and have to say on both occasions I have been impressed with the choice of beer on offer and the beer has tasted very nice. However on both occasions that I have been (early evening on a Wednesday and Thursday) the place has been really quiet. I dont quite understand this, as the oub has got all the basics right ie Good choice of beer, nice food menu and all at very reasonable prices.
I remember the outcry on here when this pubs previous incarnation failed so all of us that enjoy a nice pie and pint need to support this pub and maybe offer some advice if we think there is something lacking.

I would personally like to see a take away service of some of there lovely pies, something similar at Pie minster at Trentham Gardens which seems to be thriving.

I'm doing my best. I was there Tuesday and last night, when the very subject of take-aways was broached...

Called in for the first time since the re-opening last night, nice pint but only two other customers one of which left whilst I was there.

My wife and I went there yesterday with my brother and his girlfriend, we took advantage of the pie and burger deals on offer. I had the lamb and mint pie with a pint of Oblivion and my brother had the steak and ale pie and a very nice pint of Cumberland. The ladies both had burgers which they said were very nice.
The two pies were really nice and offer great value for money, we will be definetly returning for some food again.

Although the place wasnt full it was certainly the busiest I have seen it. There were a couple of people inside and about 8 - 10 people inside. I really dont understand why there isnt more people the beer is very good and there is plenty of choice and the food is really good and offers value for money. After we left the Stafford Ale house we wandered over to the Butlers Bell which was about three quaters full so clearly people were out drinking on Sunday.

We were sat outside about 4 til 6, like you I can't understand why it's always dead but I still go there! As for spoons I assume it's price related, god knows how they can sell black dragon at £2.40 a pint! I still prefer Stafford ale house myself, plus the kids love the milkshakes, but when skint it's understandable people think with their wallet. What was the rest of town like? I didn't see many people walking about.

It simply is not enought to serve a fair product and expect all to turn up these days ( sadly )

Laugh It Up Comedy Night, Saturday 29th September from 8pm, last few tickets remaining.

This Saturday night sees the return of top-rate comedy to the best, intimate, comedy venue in Stafford..

The compere, Duncan Logan, is well known on the circuit and not only has he got an eye for the up and coming acts he can attract some of the bigger names who are eager to play a small club with a great atmosphere like Stafford Ale House.

We have had some top comedians here - mostly before they hit the big time,

Michael McIntyre, Adam Hills, Micky Flanagan, Jeff Green, Will Smith, Mark Watson, Rhod Gilbert, Mitch Benn, Brendan Burns, and loads more have appeared At Stafford Ale House so the chances are many of the comedians who appear will go on to headline at stadiums and on TV.
