Stafford Animated Christmas Lights 2010

As most forumites will already know, last year I was (I believe) the only household in the borough to have our Christmas lighting animated to music. Word didn't get around too well, but nevertheless we raised a worthwhile £100.20 for the Special Care Baby Unit. (Thank you!)

This years show starts on December the 1st. It runs on the hour every hour from 5pm until 10pm every night in December.

PLEASE NOTE:- We're not going to be blaring out our neighbours this year with huge speakers. If you want to come along you'll need to tune your car stereo into the frequency which will be given on the moving message display in the front window. (If coming on foot you'll need a pocket radio or similar).

This years track listing is as follows (but subject to change)...
1. Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You, followed by the following Trans Siberian Orchestra songs...
2. Deck The Halls
3. Nutcracker
4. Carol of the Bells
5. Wizards of Winter
6. Siberian Sleighride

The show will last for around 20 minutes. Try to turn up at least 5 minutes before a show starts so that you can get parked up and tune your radio in ready for the show to begin! All the information is on the website at www.staffordlights.co.uk
Please remember to tell your friends and spread the word as much as is humanly possible. It's for a great cause!!

Hmmm I will have to find a pocket radio then....
For anyone who doesn't drive, it might be worth remembering that quite alot of mobile phones now have a built in radio that just requires you to plug in your headphones. I thought I'd point this out as it's usually a feature most of us forget exists on them ;)

I'm definitely going to sort some video's for the site again one way or another.
Due to passing buses etc. I might try and organise a video shoot one of the nights from the bedroom window of one of the houses opposite. (note to self - don't forget to ask first! lol) ;)

With regards to the mention of pocket radio's... I'm considering having a supply of them with headphones for sale at £2 each (of which all profits will also go the the Special Care Baby Unit). Thoughts??

Good idea about the radios, where would you get them from (pound shop ?) perhaps worthwhile presetting them in advance, nothing worse than fiddling around with unfamiliar kit in the dark (as most of the chaps remember from their youth)

I went to a 'silent rave' a little while ago with headphones that were rented out and tuned into the dj's broadcast. I don't know how much it would cost for the kit but it was really good.
