The LIVE Launch of Stafford FM tonight at 6pm only at www.staffordfm.com. Join Ray Crowther as he introduces you to all the team as we get ready to bring Stafford its very own full time radio station.
Thought I would post a new thread specific to Stafford FM, so we can keep all discussion of it in one place. :)

Launch night is tonight, Monday 5th September at 6:00pm, so let's wish them the best of luck! :D

Two things.

Possibly just me, but I can't see a way to listen via the Forum's 'Useful Link'. *See note below.

However, I can listen through the link that MarkyD's kindly produced above, but it only seems to have full bore and mute, no fine volume control for the discerning listener. I know that I can do so through the general volume control but I have every other source set at a suitable level and it will just confuse me.

* Ah, I see now. I was clicking on the Stafford Radio link, not the Stafford FM one. Does the Stafford Radio one still have a function?

The same function it has had ever since it has been there: To link to the Stafford Radio site (which has yet to be launched in full).

This thread is for Stafford FM. :)

I'm still listening if you are looking.

Strangely enough you have managed to play two tunes i have been humming in my head for the past couple of days vis. Space - Female of the Species and They Might Be Giants - Birdhouse etc.

Though to be fair i often internally hum Birdhouse etc - i think it may be because i have built one in my soul inadvertently.

bexley's bumbles bamboozle?

Can you hum tunes using any body parts other than your head?

Yes.

But you do have to be cricket (or a cicada, or a Madagascar hissing cockroach etc etc).

I have just tried, unsuccessfully, to hum a tune on my knees - your point stands.

A promising start

However I would normally listen when out in the car and the music player you are pointing people towards using is useless because it won't work when I turn the screen off on my Android phone. Need a bog standard live stream url that I can add to my usual player, and the only one I can find involves flashplayer which renders it ineffective.

Yeah, at the moment it's just a basic player but we'll be sorting that out over the next week or so.

Works on my android phone fine, what model is your phone? I'm using the free version of the app on a Wildfire.

That will do nicely.

HTC Sensation running Gingerbread.

Works ok as long as screen is powered up but won't work when screen off. Not the worlds greatest battery as it is so leaving the screen on only makes battery consumption worse.

It would also be convenient to us my existing player then all my radio stations are in one place.

It's probably not a priority I know, but it would be nice if it could be sorted at some point in the future.

I'll have a look for some different apps and send you the links.

Don't rise to him again you are making his day with every reply.

I use Tunein on my HTC desire (android) and i can have the screen off and still stream. This should solve your problem.

You dont need the pro version the free one will suffice

add one of these little beauties and you can pass the sound back to your car stereo, and make it seem like an FM broadcast.
