Sign me up as well....... www.foxleyearthworks.co.uk for anyone who needs a mini digger, bigger digger or bulldozer - that and chopping down trees!

On another note (Jade Clothing) just been in the shop and I must say it looks lovely!!
Thanks Bob - we are very pleased with it, and we seem to have started off a wallpaper phenomenon - you wouldn't believe how many wallpaper based conversations we hear as people walk past the shop, and apparantly 'real men' are able to admit they like pink wallpaper!!

I had a quick wander past this afternoon and yours may well be the most professional-looking shop in Stafford. I just wonder if an A-board at the Bridge Street end might announce it to the less observant passer-by?..

Is there restrictions on A-boards now? I know they were planning on removing them because they were an obstruction to visually impaired people but Mill Street shops kicked up a fuss as it's one of the main ways they get business. But they have put that board up at the entrance to Mill Street now with shop info on...
Just thought I'd mention in case it's an issue!

Also... When are we having a pie-meeting??

I am, in fact, not a fan of A-boards in general, as most of them are fairly irrelevant. The 'barricade' at the end of Mill Street was bizarre. But this does seem to be a case where it would actually assist. There is a springy burger board ther, for the Litten Tree, I presume - well, there is when it hasn't blown over...

don't mention the blinds

Well thanks very much, that is an amazing compliment. I'm so pleased with the way it looks and also extremely proud to say apart from the wallpaper we did every single bit of it ourselves. It is exactly how I had planned it to look, took us around 6 weeks to do, including working all the way through the night the day before we opened to make sure everything was priced!
By the way - we do have an A board at the bridge street end!!

There was talk before on another thread about having a bit of a breakfast club type meeting for local businesses at the pie and ale and it kinda fizzled out a bit and I was really interested so though I'd bring it back up!

Who would be up for this? when would you want it - lunch times, after work, or breakfast (when do they open?) or even weekends?
how often would people like it to be - once a month? every other week?

I think the general consensus was that it would be a very informal meet up - no strict "you must be here or you are no longer welcome" and no fees to join - you just have to pay for your own food and drink.

As I said I'd be really up for this and would love to organise something and meet a few local businesses in the area. I think it could be a great networking tool for us and also a great way to just make some new friends!

So who would be interested and when could they do it? I'm fairly flexible and can make space for pretty much whenever as long as I have a few days notice but I know a lot of other people might not be available during normal office hours etc.
I guess we would need somewhere fairly quiet to sit to talk about whatever it is we will talk about which may affect when it could happen.

Note me down as interested. Personally after work weekdays (excl. Mon, Thurs) or at weekends would be easiest to get to. :)
