Hello Everyone

Firstly my apologies for the wall of text below.

I have recently set up a new business offering a Boiler and plumbing care plan/package similar to that run by a large British company.

All the details are listed below and I welcome any feedback you may have to give. I have tried to keep everything as simple as possible but if there's anything you don't understand please let me know.

Also if it's something you may be interested in or know someone who might be please feel free to contact me. If any forum members with more than 50 posts wish to sign up I will also offer a £2 reduction on the monthly fee for the first year.

Damage to property

· We do not cover any loss or damage to property caused by a fault on any of your covered appliances or pipework, e.g. damage caused by water leaks.
· However we will provide quotes on request for any and all work needed with a 20% discount on our normal labour rates.

Accidental damage

· We will cover repairs to accidental damage caused by yourself to any pipework.
· We will not cover any damage caused by anyone other than the homeowner.

What if work needed is excluded from your cover?

· If a repair is needed or requested that is not covered by us or you wish to have any upgrades or alterations to your system we will provide a quote for the work needed with a 20% discount off our normal labour rates.
· If a tap needs replacing that is not covered by us we will fit a replacement free of charge providing it is supplied by yourself and all the plumbing connections are easily accessible.
· Replacement of any non-standard or decorative system parts will also be fitted free of charge as long as they are supplied for us.
· If a repair is needed on a gas appliance other than your boiler we reserve the right to class it as an exclusion to your policy. However if we can source the correct part required and we think it is economical to repair, we will do so. Alternatively if you provide the correct part required we will fit it free of charge.

What if we can’t repair your boiler?

· As long as parts are available we will always repair your existing boiler no matter how old your boiler is. However if parts are not available due to the age of your boiler, or the cost of parts is more than 75% the cost of a new boiler we will no longer be able to cover your boiler on our care plan.
· Should this occur we will provide a quote for a replacement boiler of your choice (for which we will offer advice) to cover only the cost of the new boiler selected. All labour and other materials required will be covered by ourselves.
· Alternatively we will fit any suitable replacement boiler you wish to supply yourself.
· This offer only covers like for like boiler replacement. Should you wish to make major system alterations when changing a boiler under these conditions then a discounted quote will be offered.
· These offers are dependent on you continuing your monthly payment to our care plan for a minimum of 12 months after the installation of any new boiler. Should you cancel you payments within this period you agree to pay a one off fee of £250 to cover our installation costs.

What is the cost?

· If you wish to sign up to our care plan we will first arrange to come to your property to carry out a gas safety check and an initial inspection of your plumbing and heating system. For this we will charge £36.
· During this visit we will inspect your system and check that everything is currently working and that the gas installation meets all required regulations. We will also inform you about anything that will not be covered by us, which will be recorded in writing for both our records.
· If any existing faults are identified they will be listed as exclusions unless they are rectified before your policy starts. We will provide quotes for this if requested.
· Should you then wish to sign up to our care plan after this visit then there will be a monthly charge of £17.
· This is equal to £20 pcm or £240 for the first year.
· After 12 months have passed from your first payments your monthly charge will be increased to £20.

How are we paid?
· If you wish to take out our care plan then we will ask you to set up a monthly standing order to be paid on the 1st of every month after our initial inspection.
· Alternatively we are accepting a limited number of one off payments to cover the whole year at a reduced price of £184. Combined with the initial inspection fee this makes a total of £220 for the first year’s cover.
What if a payment is missed?
· If a payment is not received on the date due we will first contact you to make sure you are aware.
· If you still wish to be covered under our care plan then we must receive the outstanding balance within the month or we will consider your cover to be terminated.
· If payments are cancelled or stop within 12 months of any repair work you agree to pay our normal invoiced amount for the last job and any other work done in the last 12 month period. We will deduct from this the total of any payments you have already made in the past 12 months.
