Stafford gets a mention on Hollyoaks.

That's it really. I don't watch it, but apparently 'a body was found on waste ground in Stafford'. :stafford:

Harsh.

As one who has left 'n' come back i can't help noticing many who have also left 'n' come back. It can't be that bad, or can it?

I've left (for university) and experienced city life but I'm back here now :1 but I'm still only in my early 20's so may move away again - there's not alot here tbh, it is quite pleasant though just a bit dull.

I think it's certainly one of those places where people think they would like their kids to grow up - their kids may well rue it later on.

I ♥ cryptic crosswords
This is starting to sound like Spitting Image when they did a take on the Birmingham bid for the Olympic Games in the eighties..

If I remember correctly the big sell lines were.. 'We once had Tavares at the Hippodrome..' and 'Dont forget the glassworks museum at Dudley'

I too 'went away' and came back although the reasons were more to do with aged parents than want. However, at 1 hour 20 minutes my irregular commute to London is oft quicker than colleagues who live in the capital and they cant see Doxey Marshes

why were you watching hollyoaks.... i mean seriously...if your life is so dull that hollyoaks is a way of passing time you should seriously take up a hobby :teef:

It strikes me as a place you'd want to settle in later on in life - say 35ish?
Taitou, formerly of this parish, always used to say the same thing.

I left twice, once temporarily and once for good. Didn't last!

I hated this town because everyone knew everyone, everyone knew your business and there was way too much gossiping from bored people who should get out more. Turns out cities are the complete opposite, you can go to the same bar every night for 2 weeks and the chances of running into the same person again are minimal - much harder to make friends unless they're from work.

I like it here now, can't se myself leaving and I'm fast approaching my mid 30s.

I quite like it in stafford although the way the country is going is shameful, i'm still planning on emigrating in the next 20 years or so
