Stafford Half Marathon 2017

How do I edit this?
It is not just 2 hours disruption though is it. It is at least half a day. I am in effect a prisoner in my own house for that half day. All the roads near me are closed or disrupted. That in addition to just about every road into and out of Stafford already being dug up. And for what? So a crowd of people with too much time on their hands, half of whom don't even live in Stafford, can run round and show off, and our pitiful failing council can rave on yet again about what a wonderful place Stafford is, in the hope of hiding the fact that it is disintegrating day by day.
As I said earlier, there is no reason whatsoever why they could not run round a field - Rowley park stadium was designed for it, Stafford rangers ground would do, they could have run round the grounds if shugborough had the council not given that away too.

Why don't you run it next year? I'd sponsor you.

I'm not sure if the Stafford event accommodates the situation.

No doubt someone could confirm this, or not; however I don't think I've seen any solo wheelchairs taking part, and I don't believe the course is really condusive to such participants. Too many stiff climbs, transfers from path to road and back again, and significant spells along the footpath, don't imagine it's attractive for wheelchair competitors!

Enjoying a drop of red.
True, but he has mentioned it several times, very tempting let his tyres down at some point tho ;)
He's also mentioned what a super motivator of people he is...

Good job he doesn't volunteer for Samaritans I say.

Quite a lot of wheelchair tyres are not pneumatic these days, due to the problems that a puncture would cause.

I noticed cars completely ignoring the closed road signs at McDonald's roundabout at 11am. Bet they were a bit sheepish when the police turned them back at Holmcroft crossroads.

Part of this problem occurs because they have a tendency to leave Road Closed signs up for days after the road closure has ceased to be active.
