Stafford Lancers, a band to be proud of - Congratulations!

In Stafford Post (June 28th) I was proud to read that a Stafford marching band had won a prestigious award despite damage caused by a noise nuisance row. It's amazing what trouble a handful of residents can cause. It appears that one of these residents has also bought their argument to our peaceful stafford forum. I must say I am more offended by bad language however written, than I am by noise polution.

Congratulations Stafford Lancers.

now now, let's not get personal.. congratulations to them, and as many others have said it's a great thing to see young people putting their efforts into something so constructive..

however, it's a but naive to honestly believe that local residents don't have the right to be occasionally annoyed by the constant disruption to their sundays..

i am not for a minute suggesting the band should stop, but i think people should appreciate that it is an inconvenience for some and they are perfectly entitled to let off steam regarding it!

Okay, I was getting more personnal on the Stafford Lancers by Ant page not this one, I shouldn't get personal I know but It gets my goat when there are so many things we would be justified in complaining about but this is not one of them. Wonder how Marston rd and Sandon Rd get on with the football crowds every other weekend, don't see complaints about that. What about Stone rd and common road residents when there is a fair and loud music. don't see complaints about that. Ambulances every few minutes on the weston rd and Stone rd, no complaints there It's because people expect the noise and don't let it bother them. People should chill. If it was drunken noise from a rowdy pub I would expect complaints or kids gathering on a housing estate blaring noise out and making a nuisance of themselves then okay but youths doing something entertaining and constructive,????? Don't figure. The council have already been to measure the sound and it is within legal limits.

that's exactly my point.. no-one is expecting you to agree with him - opposing opinions is the very basis of debate! but there's no need to get personal about it :P

i agree with almost all the points raised on this issue - from both sides of the argument.. it really is one of those things which is going to polarise opinion!

regardless, congratulations are in order to the Lancers, and i think we'd all agree that we would rather they be expressing themselves in this way, than hanging around bodmin park doing killers/buckets!
