Have you only received Suspended Sentences or Community Service Orders so far, then?..
I remember climbing to the top of the windmill with a friend when I was about 11 years old, long before it had its roof repaired and also had a site visit about 10 years ago after discussing the possibility of having a radio station there with David Kidney, but unfortunately it never happened. What a great location for a radio station! Well Done, hope all goes well and all the best for your launch on Sunday.
PS I remember I interviewed actor and TV presenter Tony Robinson some time ago who was then the patron of Broad Eye Windmill, if he still is, maybe a good idea to try to get him again?
Thanks everyone for your support. We too decided back in 2010 that Broad Eye Windmill was the only location for Stafford Radio, and it has taken much effort to get this far (as Wembley1972 can obviously relate to)
We will try contacting Tony Robinson and see what response we get…
For now, there is much to be done in preparation for Sunday. We’ll keep you posted on Stafford Forum of developments and please listen in to “your feelgood station” - Stafford Radio, 10a.m. Sunday.
Good luck for Sunday guys, look forward to tuning in!
All the best guys from all at Stafford FM.
Many thanks MarkyD and staffordfm (and everyone else for that matter!) for all your wonderful support.
You've set a very high standard for us to follow, we're on from 10 am. so we'll give it our best - let's have some feelgood fun
Just like to say well done guys - Some classic tunes played & good presenters too. Nice easy-going style perfect for a Sunday, we had it on all day at home and all hope you'll be around for a while - as the word spreads it can only be good for your station and the town too.
Well done to all concerned!
Hi there everyone. We're back broadcasting live from Broad Eye Windmill tomorrow, Sunday from 10:00
Please tune in at www.staffordradio.com
Many thanks !
Stafford Radio were bigging up stafford forum today. One or two of our more famous contributors got a mention too!
Excellent! I didn't get a chance to listen due to being away all weekend, but I'm intrigued to know who got a mention.
They were saying what a good source of local info the forum was and that very often there's some very funny stuff on there too - I think John Marwood got singled out for that, and shoes and withnail were mentioned too although I didn't catch what that about! we're getting more famous by the day... I was just wondering whether to post something outrageous to see if I can achieve fame next week!
Thanks Jay, will see if I can get you a mention!
We're live on air at 10 a.m. today from Broad Eye Windmill.
Happy New Year to forumites and Stafford Radio team alike, thanks for all your encouragement and efforts. Hope you have a "feelgood 2012" !
It’s a chilly old morning down here at the Windmill, so if you don’t fancy venturing outside – why not listen to Stafford Radio (www.staffordradio.com)
There should be some more mentions for Stafford Forum today and of course the lively forumites.
Indeed! I have just tuned in for the first time and right away am greeted with Sweet Child O' Mine.
Feel free to give a quick hello to the Admin of Stafford Forum.
