Saddlers brewery is opposite Lye station. A fantastic brewery. They've also got a tap house a couple of minutes walk away and next door to Lye Towns ground.

Disappointing game yesterday both on and off the pitch.

Very good cultural tour of Stourbridge tarnished by the football match that we had gone to see.

We go again on Tuesday hoping for better

Time to re-focus, for the club. Back to league action with 2 games in 5 days, planning for new car park, turnstiles and ground gates in place and ready to roll within weeks, to be finished by Christmas and that will make the ground more attractive as a community hub.

Totally agree GG, but all the good stuff going on off the pitch, is in danger of being undone by the results on it! We are so nearly there, but promising play for 60 minutes does not produce an elusive win, if we continue to throw away potentially winning positions, and don't get the 3 points.
I am still optimistic that we have it in us to get an elusive win and can move on from there, I know we have fantastic supporters, but the longer we wait or that win, that support will dwindle .NOT ME!!!!! fan for over 35 years, made of sterner stuff!!!!!! :heyhey:

A Junior initiative that has been in place for some time but has an alarmingly low number taking it up. Good if your young uns go to matches but you and the club can benefit purely by joining and using it.

Do you have youngsters that are under 17?
Do you use Flip Out Stoke-on-Trent, Clip 'n Climb Stoke, Wackywarehouse Catchcorner, go to Stafford Rangers Football Club or use Den's Gardening Services?

Here are some examples if you sign up to Stafford Rangers Annual Junior Membership -

    Clip n Climb - Entry £9 - £12.50 – discount of 10%
Flipout - Family ticket £32.00 or individual Early Bird 2 hour £14.00 - 25% discount off Entry
    Catch Corner – Meal for 4 Approx £60 (4 starters, 4 mains) – 20% off food
Dens Gardening Services – 10% off garden maintenance services
Stafford Rangers - Admission for Junior (16 and under) for home league games plus one free matchday mascot experience. Booked alone these can be £45 - £70 depending on package

Big savings to be made, if you join! If you were to use each service once, you would probably make more than your joining fee!
You can simply sign up via the attached link or call the office on 01785 602430 if you have any queries

    You have to acknowledge facts.

At the moment, things are going badly, on the pitch, for numerous reasons.
At the moment there are a load of positive things happening, but while the on the pitch stuff is going on it totally detracts from all of the good work.
You need to acknowledge both as that is reality, unless you are a critic rather than a supporter.

On the field - Bottom of the league with one of the worst injury crises in a number of years and have just been through a run of just 2 home games in the last 11 games.

Off the field - .Shed End rebuilt, new fans bar, successful lottery, reduced debts, busy social club and loads of future bookings, plus increased commercial activities along with new turnstiles and an impending car par park rebuild..

The argument of "if you make money, you can spend more money" is what got us into massive debt. The reduced debts (by about 400 to 500k in 10 years) are ensuring we still have a club, but throwing money at a team wold put us back in the mire!

Well another game unbeaten sadly neither was it a win. Relegation seems to be inevitable.

More importantly whilst enjoying pre match drinks in the Greyhound, shock of horrors!
No WSFFs ! ready salted (plain) available. Seems the wholesaler is at fault. WTF !......

Sadly, I agree with you I think relegation is now inevitable. We need to go on a winning run not just an unbeaten run.

More positive news...a new fans project is now underway - a cantilever roof for the social club.

Drawings of the proposed scheme are in the fans bar. If anyone wants to donate to the project please contact me.

We need to start thinking about the drop! It is going to take an escape of the Leicester of a couple of years ago, proportions! That kind of escape currently its not looking likely! We have some very tough games, amongst some decidedly winnable ones. Forgive the old adage, 'the fat lady may not have started singing yet, but she is certainly warming up her tonsils!'

It's not easy, but let us try to look to the positives! Incredible, long suffering fans. They saw the success of the wonderful 'Shed End' and 'Fans Bar' projects,. Never ones to rest on their laurels, they have now embarked on the new project above. The work of key individuals has had a large part to play in the initiation of these projects, and what a credit they are to the club, but their inspiration has lead many fans to get involved, and not insignificant funds to keep rolling in. Much of this is lead by the tales; and for us older ones, the memories of what the club has achieved! ;The good old days', of FA Trophy, FA Cup, and Northern Premier League success.

Football has changed, and money is its King! Some none league teams have become the play things of extremely wealthy owners! Some when they have had their fun, have turned their backs, and there are plenty of tales of clubs going under. Rangers have attempted to make progress by sustainable development, after nearly going under themselves. The club house has changed beyond recognition, and has a wide variety of visiting clubs/people who use it. This type of development, will hopefully benefit the product on the pitch. Let us hope so! Slow steady development will always be at the victim of a bad season, but in Rangers case, that is nearly a decade, and just when we think we have seen the end of the bad times a bad season see's us falling back again!

Stafford fans are made of tough stuff, us older ones have been here before, and lived to tell the tale! It must be galling for the younger fans to have the 'Old Gits' bleating on about the The good old days'. With a. rapidly growing Borough population and the current chairman and boards emphasis on sustainable, steady development, the good times may be on the horizon, As a Boro' follower for over 50 years I.m not holding my breath! :ohno:

The only context i will use the word "relegation" is it being something we fight to avoid, rather than accept.
Our prospective destination isn't even certain, with another league structure and introduction of a new division. Add to that, only the bottom 2 definitely going down and the next position being decided across a number of division on a points per game average. Don't even want to work it out!!

    Things we can change -
Working towards more ground improvements (spectator-wise) with a new cover to protect supporters and generate an atmosphere helps us towards our future upgrading, once we get terracing and increase the capacity. Fund raising and sponsorship will fund this project.
The club's lottery helps the club's infrastructure and anybody from anywhere can join this. As an individual for literally a quid a week, or an organisation gathering members and gaining 50% commission on all you take, to go back towards your own cause. For a town of this size, I'm interested to see why so many have not taken this offer up, as it could raise you a lot of money over a year. Example - a residents association having 10 members paying in at £5 each per month pays £600 over a year and gets £300 back while all still having the chance to win £500, £100 or £50 per month.
