Once again sorry if it's been posted on here before but how many of you have been to watch the Boro? And if you haven't why not?

Admin edit: Moved thread to correct forum.

Well I'll answer the question asked by Mitch! Yes I have been a fan and attended Marston Road, pretty regularly, despite living in Rochdale and Scarborough for a number of years, and playing rugby on a Sat' afternoon. When I was still in hospital, my first trip out, was to a home game. Such was my memory, at the time, I didn't have a clear idea, who Steve Bull was, or recognise him! Unfortunately my memory is now improved, to the point where I remember, not just Mr Bull, and that whole embarrassment he ended up as! An interview with him on Radio 5, lifted the covering from my eyes, just a few sentences from his dulcet tones, and it all became clear! If you have never had the pleasure, Yam,Yam doesn't do it justice!
Still I am surrounded by so-called 'fans' of other teams, despite them never having lived outside Ford! OK, Stoke and Wolves 'fans' have at least the excuse that those teams, are relatively local, but ScUM* @ Arsenal! Do me a favour! *(MU fc, I have had to spit, now writing that!)

In the ealy days of Re-hab, I attended HeadWay a charity, for people who have suffered from a braininjury. While their I got into animated discussion with a woman about football. Despite the fact she has never been to Old Trafford, and she has lived pretty near Burton all her life, she claimed to be a ScUM fan. She had the cheek to ask me why I was a Rangers fan, "they are not doing well, and they are in a lower league"! Other people had to step in, as I was in danger of having a heart attack, to add to my other problems!

Supporting the 'Boro', is not a choice, I can dip out of, when it is inconvenient. People have had the cheek to say to me "Yeah, but which 'proper' team do you support"?!

I have been a Boro fan as long as I can remember, I have attended every Wembley appearance, and all of the FA cup clashes against League teams. I was there when we got promoted to the Blue Square Prem'. At the time I was hoping we would make it to the holey grail of league status, like Burton. I still keep going, and much to Mrs Seeds dismay, my sons love black and white, and conversations in our house, are dominated with football. At least she knows she'll get some peace on home match days! I even made sure we would be married outside the regular season!

Well now I've got that off my chest, SUPPORT your local team. Don't just 'follow' some one you are unlickely to go and see. OK I think 'Boro is not cheap* but compare it with the premier! * £11 adult £5 under 18, pensioners, armed forces Under 13's FREE!

I love the ScUM references. It's not as if they are rivals. Makes so much sense. For the record, I go and watch the Rangers occassionally, having been taken by my dad at a relatively young age, but am generally at United matches, again my dad took me when I was nowt but a lass (for only £16 more) at the weekend.

I havent attended this year. But i refuse to pay that much money to see what is basically a pub team. I used to go all the time when it was a bit cheaper though... Call me stingy!

STINGY!

£11 adult £5 under 18, pensioners, armed forces Under 13's FREE! OK its not cheap, but as I said compare it to the premier! For what its worth IMO football has priced itself out of the range of the working person, and unfortunately due to wage demands, this has moved its way down the leagues. You just have to look at what players can demand for turing out in higher leagues/countries!

Rangers have had to move with the times, its footballs disease, lets hope its not terminal!

I was bribed to attend a match around 12 months ago - against somewhere I had never even heard of. It was ruddy awful but perhaps a low point.

I do take note of the results and if they continue to improve and the temperatures rise above freezing I may venture back - but not without considerable alcoholic intake beforehand. The second half can seem very bleak when the beer starts to wear off

I remember when you could drive your motor onto the side of the pitch and watch it in relative comfort. Bobby Charlton parked next to me in his Roller when he was at Preston.

Or did I dream that one?

That's exactly what im talking about... it can be bleak. I also do take note of the scores etc.. I must have been 20 times in the last couple of years but just cant really bare it anymore because they do quite often play like a pub team! Haha. And i went to watch the wolves in the F.A. cup the other week for 12 quid... a quid more! Although they were about as good as the Rangers it has to be said...

In agreement with Gon2Seed it is just too expensive across the board and i'm not under 13!
