I wonder if the smell builds up over time or if its over powering on first release or does it have to build for a while to have health effects and strong aromas. I wonder what triggers it to become hazardous

Remember the old Hospitals ....that smell the moment you walked through the door

Formaldehyde it was splashed about every were and we never had any problems, in fact you never heard of these supper bugs. It killed almost every bug going.
Maybe they should start using it again.

Given the time of year, and the gap between the contractors works taking place in August and the problems starting last week (council statement on their webpage is pinning the blame on works done in the summer hols), I suspect that turning the heating on has released the gas

I admit it can be over powering in enclosed spaces, we use to open and vent any space it was present before work commenced if it was possible.
