I once cycled down Mill Street, turned left then went to immediately turn right by Superdrug and was given a police caution for riding along the high street. I was 77 yrs, old. grrrrr !!

Some joined up thinking might be nice, what good is pressuring people to ride bikes into town if the roads are too dangerous, there's not enough cycle lanes on main routes and when you do get to down there's no secure lockers for your bike.
With the amount of inconsiderate, ignorant drivers around Stafford it’s risky enough driving never mind riding a bike. You’re a braver man than me if you ride into town.
(Not forgetting cyclists riding the wrong way down the one way Main Street)

I've been in Stafford for the last three weeks and have noticed, oddly, that people seem to be passing me, when I'm on the bike, with noticeably more space than was the case in the past.

I wonder if I've just been lucky and they're merely trying to avoid potholes, rather than me.
