I am with Vodafone but via Carphone Warehouse as I went in to Vodafone and they chose to sit and discuss their evening plans over serve me. I gave it 3 minutes and walked out.

The Mango bean coffee shop (corner entrance to the Guildhall opposite Rigout) is also closing on the 13th July.

Not surprised. Can't remember when I last saw someone in there.

I’ve seen quite a few people in there and been in there myself once

I did get the impression that the people in there when I went in were regulars or friends of the owners though, which if they’re your only customers possibly isn’t great for business

It seemed to be one of those places that picked when they opened. They also introduced other bits too late .

Don't know if it has been mentioned here before but the Bath Store next to TK Maxx is closing

(I thought I had seen something about it but "search didn't find anything)

I did wonder how they kept open. You can use them as a showroom but most people leave it to the bathroom fitter to source stuff based on certain requirements, and they will generally go to more tradey places

My folks had a hell of a time with Bath Store when the shower screen one day just exploded out of the blue and left shards in my sister’s foot. They did eventually relent and replace it but not without a lot of fuss.

No surprise and no loss, bar for the poor soles who lose jobs.

Company is in administration, Bath Store are gone for good across the country.

Really?

Bathstores accounts show that they appear to be very good at moving money around internally. Interesting to note that Bathstore Holdings had just 90k in March 2016 but appears to have been able to give Bathstore Limited a £15 million loan before they were dissolved quietly in July 2017, without the need for the next set of accounts. Getting a loan off a company before they are dissolved is very convenient as they would never come back to collect the loan. If I was cynical I would suggest that could have been a paper exercise allowing the Directors of Bathstore Limited to release cash from the company. We then have Bathstore.com and Bathstore Direct. It all becomes very muddled, I wish I had the time to look into it deeper and perhaps discover everything was just fine.

I've just noticed that auditors were PWC so actually - anything at all could have gone on.

I thought that, odd as they winding done their leases I do not expect to last very long either.

Plus I think they are.buying the product not saving the bricks and mortar premises that is currently bath store.

Yep, they're just buying the assets rather than the staff and physical stores. Although some may be given the option to transfer.
