Stafford shops closing - Turning into a ghost town?

I am realistic, I met up with friends during the Spoons brexit shenanigans and never had issue with it. I am not going to pretend that I am unlikely to change when its safe to enter pubs. I get internet posturing, if you don’t drink in a spoons its very easy to say I will never use them again. I on the other hand I don’t seek them out but use them. If alternatives are around I will use them, if friends say lets meet in Spoons, then we meet in Spoons. I am comfortable with it.

I'm not boycotting them, although rarely use them anyway. In times like these I'd always support the smaller businesses regardless.

On the same subject albeit nothing to do with pubs, shouldn’t everyone be boycotting the online retailer BooHoo/ Pretty Little Thing?

A billionaire clothing magnate, manufacturing clothes in a modern day slavery sweat shop paying workers between £2.50 to £4 an hour.
Making them go to work even if they are ill.
A culture of fear and intimidation.

People in their twenties are getting enraged about our history and toppling statues and then go on line and order something that’s probably been made by people living 10 to a room in Leicester, working a 15 hour day.
I think of we took a magnifying glass further into the clothing brands we spend money on I think we'd have to change them pretty quickly....

My post wasn’t aimed at anyone specifically, more the wider internet. I think for you as they don’t sell that weird flat cider you like they aren’t on your list of places. Don’t get me wrong if I am the one making plans I will choose somewhere else, if somewhere else is available.

I'm on board with this recently as I've learnt more. I've been using boomer and jen for properly ethically sources ts, hoodies and trackies amongst other cotton products. Excellent garments, organic cotton and genuinely ethically produced. Worth a few extra pounds if you care about the people who produce our clothes and the world we live in

I'd also recommend vegan outfitters for great organic and ethically produced items, and Peopletree are fab

This is the kind of apathy that allows them to treat workers like shit and get away with it :(

I get you. I understand. Wetherspoons rolled back their decision following public outcry and for that they should be boycotted. I am not going to but I get what you are saying. I am not going to change that but please, knock yourselves out for the afternoon. I welcome a pile on. My skin is thick. I will be back later to see how despicable I am. (Fairly).

Salvation army have decided to shut up shop too. I know it wasn't a massive draw, but was better than an empty unit.
Charity shops have free stock, mostly staffed by volunteers and massively reduced rates - yet its still not worthwhile being open. Says a lot for the town centre.

Never seen a customer in the Stafford branch.
I've looked in a couple of times but felt uncomfortable walking around . Bought furniture from the Worcester store in the end where I felt more at ease browsing beforehand .
