They do use the top floor I was there getting business just 3 weeks ago. It is a nice view as well :)

Apologies then, I was working there not so long back and it wasn't in use then. Just a storage area.

That shop that's been empty for what must be a decade ? The one between Toni and Guy, and Katherine house, has applied for a change of use from shops to residential, and submitted plans to alter the building as such.

Heard today Homebase Greyfriars closing mid-Feb 2016. The Range are moving in.
The range? Is that the scummy shop who sell electrical goods to the less fortunate members of society and take advantage of the fact they cant buy a tv outright and make them pay an extortionate amount of interest?

Think you are thinking of Brighthouse, The Range is a homewares type place, kind of like a more upscale Home Bargains.

I would love a range, it reminds me of a mix of dunelm and b&m. That's great news about the independent shops opening. I would love for Stafford to be full of independent shops and then the big shops on the outskirts. Hopefully when the other shops shops are up and running it will attract more independent shops to open in the town. One can hope anyway :stafford:

I'm afraid I won't be. I rarely went / brought anything from Homebase. The shop always felt confused to me - was it a DIY shop, home furnishings / furniture shop or a book store(!). For me, it tried to be too many things and failed to deliver any of them properly.

My last purchase from Homebase was a wheel barrow which I later discovered I could have brought from B&Q for £15 less.
