All that gives me is a security warning that it isn't imgur.

I think the best thing to do with the old Post Office is to open up the kind of fine-dining, posh-cocktail, ultra-expensive establishment for which there is absolutely no demand in Stafford itself and for which people from miles around will flock, abandoning those types of establishment in Birmingham, Manchester, Shrewsbury etc etc. If that could be combined with staff, by and large, treating customers like dirt, then all to the good.

Just because that's failed twice before, doesn't mean that it won't be successful the third time of asking.

I think this is at least the third failure already.

it would make an ideal venue for a place where one could manage all one's interactions with state organisations, a bit like post offices used to be.

I think there is a demand for what the post office / apothecary offers, unfortunatey it has been poorly managed and delivered.

And the demand isn't in Stafford!!!

Anyone who has a business plan to alienate people from within Stafford on the basis that they think a better clientele will drive in and then the subsequent organisation run a crap business with piss poor customer service deserve to go under in my opinion.

Shame because the building could be fantastic if it was set up properly and doesn't try to be something it isn't.

It would make a really good newsagents/bookshop with a post office service upstairs......................

Agree with Mark.

There areplenty of very good establishments in a Stafford a good portion of which are far from cheap.when people are paying good money they rightfully expect close to perfection, good service and value for the money they spend. Consistent underperformance will mean people vote with their feet.

That said, the three times I went to the Apothecary between October and December it was rammed. Could be something else was going on and we may never know the true reason. I hear (rumor) business rates kicked in and it was a put off

I guess he's more influenced by his own experience than by what he's read on the forum.

And jam up Stafford looking for the premises car park as the only realistic way that they can get to Stafford in the evening is by car.

A nice co-working/makerhub space would be nice.

That’ll never happen in Stafford though.

Nail hit squarely on head.

There is a demand amongst some in Stafford for this kind of place but not located in Stafford itself.

We want to travel to the bright lights for that kind of thing and those already in the bright lights neither want to or need to travel to Stafford for it.
