An truly amazing sucess story for Sarah McLean.
A new McDonald’s will open in Stafford creating 70 new jobs.

With the addition of this restaurant in Kingsmead Retail Park, Sarah McLean will now own 21 restaurants across the East and West Midlands, including the other McDonald’s restaurants in Stafford on Greengate Street and Eccleshall Road that she has operated since 2011.

The restaurant will open on March 25 and create 70 new jobs for the local community. Ahead of the official opening, Sarah will host a family, friends and local stakeholders’ event on March 24.

McDonald’s franchisee Sarah McLean started her career with McDonald’s back in 1982 and has been a franchisee for 18 years.

She was recently announced as the Fred L. Turner Golden Arch Award winner, the highest recognition for a McDonald’s franchisee.

Only one percent of franchisees across the world will receive this recognition in their careers. The Fred L. Turner award is presented to franchisees who deliver a superior experience for their customers, ensure a positive experience for their employees, and passionately give back to their communities.

Last year, Sarah was awarded the Three Legged Stool Award by McDonald’s in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the UK and Ireland business.

Sarah said: “We are thrilled to be bringing a brand-new restaurant to Stafford. It’s fantastic to be able to offer more jobs within the local area with great training opportunities for everyone. I’m proud to employ a great a range of people, from students, to graduates, to those looking after a family or interested in a change of career. We employ people with a variety of demands on their time and with differing family or study commitments.

“What’s more, the new digital self-order kiosks and table service have been designed to make our customers’ experience as positive as possible and we hope to see a fantastic response to these features. We are very excited to open our doors and we look forward to seeing customers and staff embracing the new features in this busy part of the town."

Would be a bit of a blow for the guildhall if they lost it, after years of closing shops and 'to let' signs, there were tentative signs of a re-resurgence, and a tentative few shops testing the water, and shock, shock, and a few even staying open! ;)

I don’t have a huge amount of sympathy for the owners, generally these shopping centres are empty because they want insane rents

I will reserve my congratulations for a few weeks.

I can see the drive thru element causing a back log onto the Rivermead car park.

If it has been designed so this does not happen, then well done to all concerned.

Last time I came up I drove overnight and carried a pork pie and a flask of coffee. Stopped up on the chase just past Brocton to go out and look at Freda's grave which I had something to do with way back when it was found. Probably make that a habit on future trips. Tell the truth a pork pie and coffee tasted pretty good after four hours on the motorway. :pie:

Whilst I don't doubt it will be a success I do wonder how much trade it will suck out of the other 2 sites....

Having worked in the catering industry myself for many years , I suspect very little.
I reckon shes done her homework and wouldn't do it without theres a vast profit to be made.

There's a gym, that supposedly has a cafe in, although I've never been in either....

There certainly is one! They advertise as Macro, (healthy eating and vegan friendly!)

Have had a beverage there in the past, very reasonably priced, and would certainly not hesitate to frequent the cafe as it is open to non members, and that goes as far as gym goers and fitness fanatics if you are interested Have a running mate who is a member, and he is very impressed with the gym's equipment, fitness facilities! Has never used the cafe!

The menu looks really good, minime would love it, I knew there was a cafe but thought it was just a tea, coffee & sandwich type place.

I can see its proximity to town being a big selling point for the chavs and their ilk who currently frequent the Eccleshall Rd location. One can only hope the rubbish these types spew all over the pavements and roads up this end follows them south to the new marina location

Looking at the plans I think the backlog will end up on the main road, not the car park.
