Stafford shops opening - Turning into a boom town?

Not sure of your point. You seemed to be concerned with the loss of eco motors claiming a loss to the town.

But it is being replaced for a like for like and probably better. So there is certainly no loss in the grand scheme of things. Not sure what the nissan site has to do with it ??

A car dealer is leaving the town therefore it is a loss to the town. But as it looks likely that another one is taking its place then there is no actual loss but no gain either.

I mentioned the old Nissan site as a premises that Eco Motors could have moved to if they had wanted to because the site is empty at the moment and was previously a car dealership. That makes sense doesn't it? If they had moved there instead of leaving the town then we would have had an extra car dealer in the town - once the proposed new Mazda dealer opens on the island.

Have I made my point clear enough this time?

A car dealer new or old, is hardly a gain to the town anyway.
Why not? It would have been another business in the town.

You could say that about Coffee#1. "Why do we need another coffee shop in town, it's hardly a gain is it..."

I disagree , a coffee shop is more valuable and is generally busier than a car dealer xD

In which case get y'all asses down to The Old Frankie and Bennys unit at the Hough retail park.

Soon to be transformed into a car dealers with a coffee shop.

This has to be the best mix since the sad demise of Darts and Crafts.

Yes and no, your original post was clearly about the loss of a business for the town ( without any mention of nissan) as a negative before being advised eco motors was to be replaced for a like for like so no loss to the town, so surely a positive ?? Though you responded negatively as there would be no gain then.

You seemed to lose what you were being critical over or just wanted to be critical for the sake it. Considering as potentially 2 car showrooms could be opening up the Lichfield rd, we don't need anymore car places

We have also lost two, with Starbucks and bee and bean closing . XD

Starbucks reopening, plans on SBC planning, bee & bean yet to be confirmed if permanent or short term that closure you can get with small businesses I.e. staff shortage :)

According to Marstons in the E&S it seems the bear will be opening quite soon after being vacated.

Probably back to public house which may not be bad

Only one of those quoted posts is mine...

But it is one car dealer replaced with another so essentially there is no change.

If Eco Motors had moved to another place in town - the old Nissan dealership for example - then it would have been a benefit to the town.
