Stafford shops opening - Turning into a boom town?

What was once Maplin will be opening shortly as a furniture outlet, selling kitchen tables and chairs etc.... It looks very much like a "clearance stock, everything must go" type of place...

I was expecting the place that took HMV’s unit to be like that, was quite surprised when I saw it still there a few weeks ago.

That shops been in town for about ten years though, used to be in Ethal Austin near Lloyds Bank, then moved a few door down, then relocated to the hmv premises, although I think they're on a much shorter lease in the guildhall so may relocate if a mainstream retailer ever gives that space a go.

Anyone know when the Beaconside Business Park Co-op is due to open? Seems like it’s been bordering on ready for a while.

Anyone got the dates that the clearance store in the Maplin unit will be open?

Also, Co-op has now made it very apparent that they're open with a giant screen on a flatbed sitting by the Morris Man

Popped into the clearance place today. It is actually pretty decent stuff at decent prices. It’s end of line stuff from known brands so not no-name items.

They’re only there for another week or so then moving up to Stoke. Lots of beds, not many sofas unfortunately

Ah, maybe the other shop on the other side for sofas then, hope you find what you want. :)

Buying a sofa from SCS? You must be joking. I’m not a terribly big fan of paying thousands for a sofa that isn’t massively more comfortable than one worth a few hundred.

Off-topic: we got our massive corner sofa from Nabru. It was a flat-pack ordeal that slotted together, but is huge, comfy, only cost £700-odd and if there’s damage or marking on any of the fabric we can remove that section and chuck it in the wash/buy a new bit of fabric.
