Stafford shops opening - Turning into a boom town?

You are too late, it is already happening, and has been doing so quite openly for a decade at the very least. It's all but happened already. We are already a dormitory town - a sleeper suburb of London/Birmingham/Manchester that will only become more so.

It’s just the way town centres are going. Residential, entertainment and leisure rather than shops.

Vaguely related to the "boom town" thread but can't think of anywhere else to put it.

Amazon have installed one of their locker delivery boxes (same as the guildhall) in Matalan on queen's retail park.

Anyone know if the Cheese & Ale Festival is actually on tomorrow? The publicity for it seems to have been non-existent.

The only reference that I had seen to it anywhere so far, is from the Quirky Emporium in The Colonnade - he'll give you discount, if you appear with cheese and ale in the shop.

People of the county town - you have been sleepwalking into dystopia
As has been ^ above annunciated, it's not like it's hidden in any way, and it's not like it's actually in any way a 'bad' thing.

It is what it is, and it is absolutely not unlike what is happening in town centres up 'n' down this sceptered Isle.

The town centre times, they are a'changeing.

Heard a rumour today that Aldi are looking at building another supermarket on the land opposite the fire station on hydrant way.u

When I was at the uni I always thought if someone built a store there they’d make bank. The campus shop was incredibly overpriced so people would happily have walked the very short distance for much lower prices
