Regretfully I have to pass the Tesco area of town several times on most days.
I went past there today, though that was probably the first time in three/four months - and then only because the single-lane past Asda was solid when I came past that a few minutes before. Still, it's always a treat to see the right-turn lane by Tesco lights that hasn't been used since it was painted.

The Western Acces Road is not to help the flow of traffic around the town. More to do with moving traffic away from Chell Road so the council can develop the Chell Road Area. Bus facilities etc

And if you were thinking of parking your car....
http://www.staffordbc.gov.uk/parking
For approximately 3 weeks as detailed below:-

Due to preparatory work for the new Morrisons Supermarket, North Walls Car Park will have a reduced capacity from week commencing 10 November 2014. In addition the access route for vehicles between North Walls and Kingsmead Short Stay will be closed, however a pedestrian walkway will be maintained.

Alternative short stay parking is available on Doxey Road
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Car Park Changes at the Civic Centre
The following car parking changes will take place on Monday 18 August 2014 due to works for the new development:-

  1. The Temporary Riverside long stay car park will be closed permanently.
  2. The current slip road leading to the old Riverside car park and the rear entrance to the Civic Centre short stay car park will be closed. The car park will remain open but with less spaces. Access and exit to the Civic Centre car park will only be possible via the first entrance under the Civic building.

This pic really deserves a caption competition. First prize a day trip to Alton Towers with the freemasons.

Well looking at the image of the proposed route posted above I can't work out what's going on, despite knowing the area and the route. Would it not have been more informative if they had overlaid route graphics on aerial photo ? Closing/ pedestrianising the road outside Sainsburys to cars will likely create more problems than the new road can solve ? Regarding the use of islands rather than Lights I would expect to see lights on the island so the worst, most expensive, possible solution. :stafford:

Is Councillor Heenan the one who has admitted to a criminal offence but has not faced any charges?

How can this be?
