More traffic lights outside the old police headquarters on Cannock road.

If the light weren't sitting in the road ,and workmens vans parked further over, there would be room for 2way traffic without any need for lights.

Collision on West Way this evening.

The Cops say -

Police urgently want to speak to the driver of a Volvo five-door hatchback who stopped after a serious collision in West Way, Stafford, this evening.

At 7.15pm this evening (16 October) a collision took place on West Way involving a man driving a mobility scooter and two cars - a Honda Civic and a Volvo. Officers are aware that the driver of the Volvo stopped but need to speak to the driver again as part of the investigation.

The man driving the mobility scooter, a 79-year-old from Stafford, was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital by ambulance with head and chest injuries.

West Way remains closed while the matter is being investigated.

Witnesses are asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident 731 of 16 October.

I have been forced into spending a lot more time than one would've liked to driving a car - about 6 weeks now.

You all have my deepest sympathies, i wouldn't wish it on anyone.

I have recently received news that this heinous state of affairs nears an end.

I'm not a religious man, as many of you will know, but i will say alternative prayers for you.

Heaven, or any sort of Utopian Dream, help us all.

We have lived on a busy road for 5 years, the noise has never bothered us and we just don't notice it, until.........this week for two nights in a row the road has been closed due to work on the island at Stone and we all, (even the teenager) noticed how eerily quiet it was and we didn't like it!

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
I'm now getting fed up with taking so long to get off Baswich Lane in the mornings. Over 20 minutes from Porlock Avenue junction to getting onto the Lichfield Road.

You might well be better off trying to escape via Lynton or even Stockton Lane and across Hillcroft Park to the Cannock Road.

No point as there are big queues on Cannock Road into town. It’ll be from one queue to another.

Agreed...Cannock road queues go back up past overhill road at times each morning .

Walking I see shorter queues on Lichfield Rd and Baswich lane than the Cannock road.

Ah, I remember my old daily route into town. Always so much fun, especially when Severn Trent were digging everything up and Baswich Lane was closed.

I almost miss it...
