If I thought you knew, I might have to have you eliminated. Suffice to say that it was an open and shut case.

I seem to remember that @stoofer34 had an involvement with them.

This would be around 25 - 30 years ago.

I doubt there was ever any more than three at a time.

I did have to be a tad careful driving about behind heavy fab what with the test crash rails and the trenches!

Our subcontract division built them.
Only Spearfish and Tigerfish handling variants. You wouldn't the Navy playing with real ones?

I knew a chap who transported them, if I remember correctly her needed a co-driver depending on how much equipment was installed.

Site security were scared of them! We wheeled one outside for photographic purposes and were spotted on CCTV causing bit of a panic from Security!

Facsimilies of the real thing dimensions, weight,C of G, Decals . There were security issues at the time. Alstom also manufactured alot of handling equipment and shipping containers for them all to aircraft spec

To be fair, people did make some fairly dodgy "foreigners", it was reasonable to suspect that you might have been going to see how big a bang one made...

One was dropped about fifty feet from a crane, deliberately, to see if the suspension in the box stopped it from hitting the side too hard.

Another loaded case was rammed into a pile of weights, about forty tons, by pulling it along one of the old rail tracks with a tractor - amusingly, the tractor had L plates on.

UPDATE: Woman in hospital after jumping from bridge over M6

A Staffordshire Police spokeswoman said: "Staffordshire Police was called to a report of a woman who appeared to jump off Doxey Road bridge on the M6 near junction 14 just before 8.30am this morning (October 19).

"Fortunately, she received minor injuries and has been taken to hospital for treatment and support.

"The M6 has now reopened and traffic levels should return to normal soon."

We'll bring you more information on this story as we get it on the live feed below.

The incident is believed to have started shortly before 8.45am this morning (Friday October 19 2018).

Curious situation on Stone Road, just before the roundabout but after Subway going south... is a car with temporary plates hanging off it that is sitting with its hazards on.

Pretty rough place to end up (not sure why it has temp plates though, surely a dealer didn’t leave it there with someone in?) as it’s causing quite a traffic jam.

Though to be fair, it’s still better than the temp lights that were on this stretch a few weeks back

That (the Blue car) was there when I left work at 2pm, along with a Black car which was parked directly in front of it & facing it - it was causing quite a hold up even then, but there were people with both cars.

If it had broken down I don't understand why they hadn't pushed it into the Bristol Street dealership (presuming that's where it came from/or was headed).

I understand that there may now be another set of "temporary" lights at Parkside now - certainly the red lines on Google Traffic make it look worth avoiding the north end of Beaconside.
