Well, I have just driven North on Beaconside without being obstructed by Taylor-Wimpey for the first time in many months. The trench has been filled in, after a fashion, so Beaconside is two-way again, for now. The futile lights didn't even stop me - bizarre.

Lloyd's Roundabout seemed slightly less obstructed than what we have come to regard as 'normal'.

I've contacted my local councillor about making access to the cut through routes between Stone Road and Eccleshall Road (and vice versa) for residents only during the duration of the Lloyds roundabout roadworks to try and stop the whole volume of trunk route traffic speeding down my narrow road with no regard to the residents lives and that of the children who play out. Hopefully someone will take up my suggestion BEFORE a child is mown down or a juggernaut gets wedged in up the narrow end!

Those lights are weird. Used to stop everyone regardless of traffic flow. I do wonder if they have been changed as traffic seems to flow better alon there at the moment....I've probably spoken too soon and the Lloyds roundabout works will lead to more traffic jamming up Beaconside!

I'm gonna cycle everywhere for the foreseeable future :)

Set off a bit early anticipating some delay due to the roadworks.

My bus sailed straight through with no delays so I'm now sitting at the station 40 minutes before my booked train and bored.

It's started....absolute morons driving up and down my narrow speed humped road as if 50 mph was too slow. Just to avoid a few hundred yard detour. Inconsiderate wankers :(

Traffic was blocking the exit from Browning Street onto the A34 Northbound at the traffic light junction. Also, everyone was blocking an Emergency Ambulance trying to make it's way to the soon to be newly non-slip surfaced roundabout. But what can be done about it?

I wouldn't bother parking your car down Alliance Street or Holmcroft Road unless you want car parts knocked off your vehicle, for the next 10 weeks.

It's bad enough that they cut through, but what galls me is the speed they think its acceptable to drive up a narrow residential road where the limit is 20mph and children play. How selfish are people ☹. If they drove considerately it would be more tolerable

Has anybody ever had a penalty for exceeding a 20mph limit?

Not down my road... people do whatever they want with impunity. Park on zig zags, park outside the school. Why don't people care about the impact of such selfish behaviour on others ? :(
