Stafford Traffic.

250,000th poster!
Were there massive queues by Tesco as well @littleme ? Got to go to pick up my 'Click & Collect' mid morning next week, but will try to reschedule if it's too bad at the moment .:hmm:
Well, if heading to Tesco going via the Station, the road is down to one lane so there is no right/left filter lane, and right hand turn lights are set to turn first, so If you want left for tesco, you have to still wait for the lights to change eventogh everyone behind is beeping as they want to turn right!

I realise I haven't explained it very well, yes.

From the way you'll be coming it's unlikely there will be any delays other than the usual. Nothing to worry about.
Thanks Both
Was just about to reply to @littleme that I'll be coming from the Grapes direction. Sounds a nightmare coming the station way !
Will keep that slot then if you reckon it won't be worse than usual then @proactive . (Got a 6am one this morning , so roads were empty-ish then . Forgotten what it's like to drive in the usual gridlocked Stafford , since my only ventures out since lockdown began have been a clear Pottal Pool island and back to charge the battery.)

Lots of wide loads going down Beaconside and Weston road lately... been messed about getting to work loads of times now

Looks like the wide load is going down the road towards Milford at the moment, judging by the red lines on the AA live traffic map. Also temporary lights for gas main work on the Brocton Road by Milford are stuck on red, with big queues (and more traffic diverting that way because of the wide load).

There’s a sign on the link road between the A34 and J14 saying the road will be closed from 0500 on 25/07/20 to 26/07/20.

I’m guessing they’re relaying it because it is in a terrible condition at the moment.

Could take a while to get anywhere if all the traffic is directed towards town, along Alliance Street and back up the Eccy Road.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Anyone know if something's happening to cause a hold up on the Lichfield Road/Radford Bank to cause a hold up coming out of town?

Will affect which way I come home from work in a bit of there's a problem.

Turn into Lidl/Halfords etc is currently closed off and entry is via the other roads in. Unsure how long it will go on for.

There was a sign saying 'full closure' of the mini roundabout for most of September, but without making it clear what the alternative might be...

It is closed till 4th October. Alternative access is via Greyfriars Way, into Greyfriars Place.

Annoyingly they haven't maintained any pedestrian access across the junction (on Foregate Street).

Not Stafford but there are two sets of traffic lights on the A449 through Penkridge. Might slow things down a bit if you are travelling that way.

Big sign saying Pedestrian yesterday, but it was actually blocked off if you tried. Imagine what chaos there will be here when the new road opens.

Pets at Home are moving their headquarters from Stoke to Stafford on the Redhill site. A new roundabout is proposed on the A34 to accommodate the increased traffic. Should be fun.

When you say headquarters do you mean warehouse/logistics or head office?
