Being into all things green, treehugging and peace studies etc. I'm rather kean and also proud of some of the wonderful areas of nature we have in Stafford. Most people know Doxey Marshes which is a national nature reserve and then Cannock Chase too - officially an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Some places in Stafford have been designated Local nature reserves and there is now a Flickr group for anyone who is interested in them. There are a few pictures on there already but I'm sue they would like more. If your interested visit http://www.flickr.com/groups/377358@N24/

Yep! I am a big fan of the little reserves that the ingnorant call wasteland! We have some wonderful wildlife habitat within the Borough Boundaries. Astonfields Balancing lakes, are brackish which has got to be unusual, and home to all sorts of Flora and Fauna. All sorts of marshy and boggy habitats abound, and of course the Friends of Riverway have done a great job of raising the profile of The Meadow and improving the habitat between Riverway and Queensway.

We should be proud of these initiatives and be on our guard against the developers, ... Yes you Fraud Prickhard,... hands off !
