His good friend, however, William Horton, is possibly the most significant Staffordian of the last three hundred years, as he started the shoe industry here.
in which case, if it weren't for him, i wouldn't be the proud staffordian i am now! i was born in n. ireland, and my family moved here back in 1979 when my old man got transferred to Lotus Shoe Factory.. i dare say that wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for stafford's shoe-based history!

My family are also Irish having moved here in 1841 for the same reason, the shoe industry that is.

I thought about that as I re-read it. I knew it would either be you or Coobeastie to comment.

not to be egotistical here but how about "Dan 1", "Dan 2", "Dan 3", etc...

It is catchy!

*grumbles* well....... worth a shot.

OK... More reaslistic ones;

- Stafford Roads (tedder, browning, eccleshall, blah blah)
- Nearby Rivers and Lakes (OK, i can only think of Trent right now...)
- The owner of the business park likes Nelson and his wars... - similar if you like..

Good luck with the place! Call me for internet!
