private cars that seek to use the Borough’s roads, ways have to be found to increase usage of alternatives to the car, including public transport, cycling and walking. This is particularly important with regard to commuter trips.
Good luck with that the fact is if the route subsidies are cut or removed you'll have no public transport, they'll go bust in a month. I can make 8 trips to town and back for less than one bus ride round trip. Cycling ok but you still need some were to park the bikes, if you've ever worked round Oxford you may think twice.
Walking's fine but the added pedestrians you'll get, the foot paths really ain't up to scratch.
Then you have to think about service trades milk men post office delivery vans and trucks.
This isn't just a problem here Councils up and down the land need to sort out traffic flow to start with, and not leave it stupid town planners the like we have been lumbered with who imo couldn't plan a night out at Slaters brewery if there life depended on it.
Weather you like it or not road transport be that private or business is here to stay with out it the country will grind to a halt.
So the sooner they get on with sorting it all out the better.
