Staffordshire births, deaths and marriages registry

Hi everyone :)

I'm looking for any help about how I can find out a bit more about my father's family. He was born and raised somewhere in Staffordshire (though noone's really sure). For many reasons my family have fallen out with his, and we havent had any contact for many years (hence this post asking for help!)
Is there a Births, Deaths and Marriages registry that I may be able to access or somewhere else that may be able to point me in the right direction?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Lisa :)

You can contact Stafford B,D and M office:01785 277880. These things all cost as I'm sure you're aware, but Genesreunited as Gloop suggested is an easy way forward.
Good Luck!

Cheers for the help Miss T and Gloop :)

Tried the Genes Reunited site and found a couple of matches, so I'll have a crack and see if I get anywhere with them. Hell, its a start.

Cheers again,

lisa :D

hey lisa, best of luck with the search and im loving your sig....i think im going to have to send that to a few people!
i'm surprised you've not heard it before, it's been around for ages! i've had a t-shirt with it printed on for years - alas i'm too portly these days to actually wear it lol..

it's a great quote, but it's not from nintendo - if you pass it on make sure you attribute it to the right person!

Cheers Cookie Monster but seems I misquoted... still a great quote nonetheless.
DirtyBobby - quote deleted and replaced, thanks for the hot tip. Like the masses, I always thought it was from Nintendo. Heh, go figure.
Hey Rich Upsetter! Found one person who matches my dad's details, and the person who put the entry in has the same first name. Im wondering what the chances are that its in fact my dad, but surely the world cant be that small, yer? Im going to have a crack at it anyways... no guts no glory I guess!

Have a good one and thanks everyone again! I'll keep you all updated with how I go.

i didn't mean you should delete it! i think it's a great line, just thought i'd give you a heads-up as to its true origins.. i always heard it was from nintendo me sen, and was pretty interested (and disappointed, truth be told) when i found out that wasn't the case..

still, i think i prefer your new one.. never heard that before :)

Heh cool cheers thanks for that! Think I prefer this quote too, every man and his dog has heard the Nintendo one but this ones a little less common. :)

Cheers and many beers,

Hi Upsetter :)

Cheers, I'll check out the website and see how I go.
As for Dad's surname, he left in the 60s after he finished Uni so not sure if anyone will be old enough to help me cos it was soooo long ago. But hey - you never know ;) Stranger things have happened :)

Hi Dan :)

From one noob to another, welcome! :D

Thanks for the link, Ill go check it out. Admittedly I still havent plucked the courage up to contact the person with the same first name as my Dad... Its been years since we've spoken and not quite sure what to say if perchance it is him but I'll give your link a crack and see how I go.

Tried your link again Upsetter (last week wouldnt work for me). I'll see how I go there, and thanks again for the help!

Lisa :)
