Our local pub, The Staffordshire Bull in Parkside
9B3E1C2E-4890-4851-BE02-6E2056A29166.jpeg
has been short listed for an award in excellence.

Respect to the new people who have turned the place around and brought it back to a thriving estate pub.

Irrespective of views - this is a nationwide award thing and they should be proud of themselves of being selected from the 100s of other pubs . Pubs in general get a raw deal and I know the new landladies have pulled this pub round from the brink of disaster.

They have brought back their regulars and turned it back into a community pub.

I drink Gin but they do a selection of beers, real ale and ciders as well as other essentials. I’m not really up to speed on what they have ale wise.

Purely from a Forum point of view I shall meander down and do a reccy (out of the goodness of my heart)

I had heard it was on the way back when you meandered

Do they do pies too?

No, they do filled rolls and snacks. We have a pizza place, Chinese, curry house within two minutes walk and patrons are allowed to order takeaway food and eat it in the pub (as long as you are drinking of course)

They usually have Doombar and a guest ale on the handpumps plus the usual selection of keg lagers and ciders.

Not been in for a while so may have changed in the last two months or so.

Good to see the pub coming back though so many fold these days.

Apart from the Luck Penny and the Redhill venues, it is a long way away from any competition, which has to help these days.

There will be a steadily increasing population within staggering distance..

Agreed, but people will travel to a pub they prefer and will only come back if the service improves. This is evident in The Bull. I have ‘meandered’ back a couple of times from the Bull lately

I havnt been in the Penny for a while it lost its appeal and for some reason I don’t like the Redhill.
