I worked that out for myself otherwise you'd have kept quiet .:D
I can’t be trusted with the cheque book :D I am genuinely sorry to hear your experience has not been positive as I am really very proud to work there and I think the city itself gets such a bad press. There was a great series of videos on The Guardian recently about the city which is worth a watch if anyone hasn’t seen them

Yes. A unitary council would at least save overpaying two chief execs and reduce the communication problem that contributed to the hospital collapse

Past experience of what happens at the senior levels is that the chief exec of one authority becomes the chief exec of the new one while the chief exec of the second merging authority becomes the deputy chief exec of the new one. Both at higher salaries of course because the larger authority means they have more responsibility.

Are you seriously saying that's Stoke's problems are nothing to do with corruption?

Really?

Yes that is exactly what I am saying. Many councillors/ councils had their hands in the till so to speak.......it does not mean that heads of departments/ staff (on the ground) cannot by doing their jobs efficiently and competently, plenty of councils do.

Stoke being underfunded by government has been a well documented issue for years
