I've been searching on eBay and found a few results but thought I'd check on here to see if anyone has some old empty drums or barrels.

I'm looking for four 205 litre/45 gallon steel barrels. Happy to collect and obviously pay

I can't help thinking your either floating away from this septic isle, or starting up a steel band, curiosity is killing me

Well I'm planning to use the canal instead of Stafford's road network

One of them is going to be used for hog-roasting purposes, thank you for the offer wmr! Although, I'm looking for a whole one for the BBQ as I'd quite like a lid for it. I'm going to use another barrel as a stand/base for it.
I'm hoping to use another for an outdoor fire. The last can serve as backup when I inevitably fail with my lack of craftsmanship.

I've now arranged to collect some barrels from Walsall over the weekend

I should probably make a new thread for this, but i'll ask here first:
Does anyone know where I might be able to get my hands on some metal? i.e. Angle Iron, flat steel, etc. Anyone throwing anything out that they think might be useful to me?

I could do with some lengths to reinforce the barrel and to help make a tighter seal on the doors.

You could ask at Watson's on Common Road or J&S on Drummond Road - both scrap dealers who might be in a position to assist you.
