When I was a Patrol Leader a favourite tipple for times when one was in a weathered condition was a cup of hot milk with a Mars bar melted into it.

My poor dog's hiding under my desk.
While I turned of the lights to watch it, some really good forks to be seen
I was hiding just like your poor dog (not under your desk though..)

Hopefully that's it for tonight now, though the rain's just started coming down heavily again..

Have just driven back from Cannock, and it looked like all of Brocton up to The Seven Stars was without power.

In the days when I ran a freezer I used to keep my candles in there. Not only did it mean that I knew where they were, but it is alleged that they burn more efficiently and with less dribbling..

Our power went off for a few minutes on Wildwood but the next door but one's didn't.
Hubby had no choice about turning the TV off as it went off on it's own! Son going mad because computer went off and he lost his money on his on-line game! Thought we had been hit as our fire & carbon Monoxide alarms were going off like mad in the darkness.

Not normally scared of thunder storms but this was a bad un and a bit too close for comfort.

Just been playing with the rest of the photos I took. This one came out completely bleached in the sky on the camera, however with a massive exposure adjustment you can see a little bit of what happened. I can already hear the cries of 'fake' and 'photoshopped'. I will happily send you the original from the camera and tell you how, with a simple exposure adjustment, you will arrive at the same image. Just drop me a PM.

I'm on Wildwood and haven't had any power probs.

As good as the lightning was tonight, i particularly enjoyed the thunder - ripping across the sky along the lines of the lightning and it genuinely made the ground tremble.
