Sudden smell in my house

Yesterday a smell developed in the house. The best description is acetone gluey type smell. Mainly in the closet under the stairs and the downstairs toilet. This morning its mainly in the closet. Strange its not the eggy smell of gas nor of electrical burning.

Yes checked that and moved everthing else out of the cupboard. Smell still there. Not electrical burn nothing warm but does appear strongest near the meter so have western power to check

Thanks its fine no gas escaping. Its strange its in the cupboard under the stairs. Yes there is the elcetric in there and that has been checked but its not a burning smell.

The best way to describe it is its the same smell as glue that shoe repairers use. No damp its a solid floor.

Eventually the problem was solved. It was a leaking aerosol that was in one of the other halfs bags. She said she had checked every can but it appears the little hairspray can at the bottom of a bag did not count !!!!!!!!!!!! agh. I think she knew all the time and just kept quiet to see me sniffing everywhere.
