'sunday lunch' in the Search box and 'Search titles only' ticked will bring up discussions from the past, which will still be largely relevant, if it's tomorrow that's the target date...

(you may need to untick 'Search this forum only', if it is ticked..)

Enjoying a drop of red.
What are you looking for (obviously a Sunday lunch)?

As above Sun or Swan plus The Bird in Hand is a lower priced good quality carvery. The Bird usually has the weekday menu as well and if you're not too hungry the hot beef rolls are highly recommended.
Ooh, yes. Good point, well made...

Radford bank, Wetherspoons are you being serious? As far as I know Wetherspoons haven't done a Sunday microwave for a good 10 years.

I can't comment on Radford Bank because I haven't bothered to return for about the same period of time due to how appalling the food, service and cleanliness were. It may have improved, things do change.

Similar with the Vine.

I always give a place two chances before making a decision and there are enough good restaurants/eateries in Stafford to avoid the need to return for several years if a bad experience occurs.

The Tap Steakhouse also do a Sunday lunch but I haven't tried in yet.

@Daz asked for suggestions in Stafford and didn’t mention the price range but did imply transport was an issue - there really is not much choice in Stafford itself so I was just trying to help!

Think it may be the Sun or the Bird as they sell some proper beer :) one of the reasons for the taxi the other being the fact I can’t get six in the car well legally so again thankyou for the heads up on them.
I have to say nowhere sprang to mind when I was thinking about which eastablishment to visit.
I also have to agree the vine was not good for food last time we went, hence the request for recommendations.
Cheers Daz

It's a poor choice

If you find a driver try going out to the Oakley Arms near Brewood

Proper beer too but a bit outside the Borough

The Mill at/ near great bridgford.

Ok not Stafford or Sunday (don't shoot me) but good enough to warrant a mention, and for future reference
the swan at forton does a very good, Monday carvery that's cheap as chips!

But are the chips as cheap as the carvery?

And which came first?

Yes, the Mill at Worston (at/ near great bridgford - sic) is v.good, but is a bit out of range OP wise.

Worth a mention in dispatches for future reference, though.
