At which point Ramos had already pinned Salah's arm under his own. Look at the picture above - Salah's arm is already trapped, what he then does with it is immaterial.... as clearly, at one point, his arm was locked around Ramos'
The infraction has already occured, worthy of a free kick if not a yellow card at this point.
That Ramos subsequently uses this grip to throw the poor chap heavily to the ground is dangerous play arguably worthy of a dismissal.
In the context of the passage of play, Salah gains no advantage from holding - he's trying to get away. The most annoying thing aout the whole episode is that the best angle televised to see what happened looks right over the referee's shoulder - i appreciate that slo-mo makes it easier for the armchair ref, but that was pretty blatant.
That it unarguably changed the course of the game makes it lamentable in the extreme.
