I found this forum when looking for reviews in Stafford and have been lurking for a while and have found it really informative. I hope I'll be able to contribute and help someone. I'd like your opinions on what you think are good Chinese and Indian takeaways in Stafford. I used the Tiger Bowl at new year and that was good tho they don't deliver and only take cash not cards. I'd be be interested in your view of those where you can only collect as well as those that will deliver. I live on Wildwood part of Stafford. TIA.

Have a 'Search' for what you're interested in and you'll come up with threads like this - http://www.staffordforum.com/xf/index.php?threads/indian-food-in-stafford.947/ - there's loads more to be had in http://www.staffordforum.com/xf/index.php?forums/pubs-and-eating-out.5/ ....
Thanks a lot for the reply. As I've been lurking I can see you are a great contributor to the forum so pleased to meet you! I found this forum when I was searching for reviews on takeaway food however it didn't have enough current opinion for me to feel confident. Especially as some change hands often. I've had a good read of the pubs and eating out board and its really good. Some comment is a year old so I would like anyone's current opinion of where they use for Chinese and Indian takeaway. There are some good posts about the one that's a combination of Chinese and Indian. Any info on where you all go for takeaway would be greatly received. Thnx. For eating in I've tried the Panache but found the takeaway wasn't that good.

I found that there is a good takeaway in Mill Street

They do fruit and vegetables and crazy stuff like that and you take it home and do freaky things with it like cook it

It might even catch on

Doubt it though

( ecce chippie - its a long way to go for a supper but it dunna half taste nice )

Lol . I do cook fresh homemade meals. I do a great Sunday lunch with all the trimmings and made a splendid lasagne from fresh last night . No one was home to eat it except me - shame. But friends visiting always want a takeaway and I am always at a loss where to go. When its fish & chips I use the chippie at Rising Brook which is always good or the one at Prospect Rd which is equally good and cheaper or the one on the Sandon road by the church - that was v cheap and tasty. But where to go for Indian and Chinese- I've gone off the Essence of Orient. Tiger Bowl was ok but maybe there are better ones around. I'm definitely going to try Nirvana now. Any other recommendations keep em coming. Thnx.

Smash takes me back a bit ! Haven't see it for years.

Has anyone tried the new Balti takeaway called Haweli on Prospect Road? I've just found a £5 off a £17 spend as the menu was dropped thru my letter box last week. I'd forgotten about it til now. Any feedback on them anyone?

We have had consistantly good takeaways from the Lotus house which is a couple of doors down from the Sun Inn.
Never had a takeaway from Navarna but the quality of the meal last night was outstanding as we had a sit down later on when tables started to be available

Thanks Andy. I now feel I must go for a sit down at Navarna. ! I've never been there. Where would I park to collect a takeaway from The Lotus House as that's what always puts me off going there to pick up a takeaway or do they deliver?

Hi Princedomino, I like Kims Kitchen on the Sandon Rd for Chinese/Cantonese, but husband prefers Essence of the orient....

On to my question for everyone else...Husband would like to know where there's a good 'Indian' takeaway in Stafford (not a Balti type takeaway),
We had takeaway from Ashiana last week and were a little disappointed as it seemed lacking in flavour, a bit watery, and husband (fussy eater) didn't like the fact that the lamb dish he ordered was on the bone and had some tubey/gristley bits in - which is a real shame as the staff there are always super helpful and friendly and the food is usually good...

Apparently - there is a trend of photographing your meal at your dining table in restaurants , some people choosing to stand on dining chairs for best effect

We were at Narvana last night and it was brilliant, as per usual. I shared the Nargis kebab (pretty much an Indian Scotch egg) for a starter and it was delightful. I've had a couple of takeaways from there too and they've both been superb. Lovely place.
