Taxi Drivers

In fairness, a lot of people just don't like cyclists, air horn or not, simply because this country worships at the shrine of the car!!! (I do have a car by the way, although can't say I'm very attached to it)

Only use the air horn if I get cut up or overtaken with postage stamp clearance, or pulled out on because people think you must be going slow because you're on a bike. So really that's not any different to how a lot of people use the horn on their car, and it doesn't get blasted that often. The effect is amazing as drivers simply don't expect it!

I think there's more cyclists in Stafford than where I've lived previously (Brum and Lichfield), and compared to those places it seems that drivers here are maybe a bit more aware of cyclists. But there's always going to be the plonkers - for instance the other day I got shouted at (passenger head and shoulders out of the window of a battered Citroen AX) telling me I shouldn't be using a roundabout (I was cycling at the same speed as the traffic at the time). Which goes to show that you don't have to do anything wrong to upset people!!

Any driver who thinks they have priority over me when they don't gets the 115 decibel air horn I have on my bicycle....
See, thats why people don't like cyclists.

I had a similar experience the other week (during the 'floods').

I had a chav-like passenger calling me a 'Ginger t0$$3r' from the safety of his mates lowered hatchback. Two minutes later, I was pedalling up behind them after their car had cut out when they'd driven through a particularly deep puddle.

I waved and smiled politely as I passed them. :)
