Nope, the others kept their drinks. My brother was still drinking his while they bundled me into the van! Think the other guy had his on the floor at the time, but they didn't pour his away either. I may ask Tesco for a copy of their CCTV footage to verify this, I talked to security today and he said the cameras will most likely have covered it.

Upshot is I'm most likely going to have to accept the fine, whilst putting in a formal complaint against the officer. If I list all the reasons why I feel she goaded me into the response, I should be able to get it reduced to a simple D&D.

Thanks for your help on this though, if the signs aren't up its surely unfair to expect the public to know?

The Police should have stopped you all from drinking if thats why they came over to you. If not then why pick on you? I dont know if the signs are up yet, ive not noticed them. If they aren't up its very unfair.Like you say, how are the public supposed to know?

A few months ago my son was stopped while walking through the town and told to pull his trousers up and not to dress so aggressively. He wears his jeans hanging off his arse as do a lot of youths I must point out.

Thank the Lord! now whens it coming to the uk?..soon hopefully !

It's high time this trousers half way to your ankles look stopped .. I just cant see the point . If you happen to be following kids dressed like that they spend more time trying to pull them up than anything else only for them to fall down again .. seems this is aided ( the falling down bit) by adding weight to the garment , chains and heavy wallets etc.. it really is the most gormless and futile of fashion statements .

Who to blame? dunno

did notice Johnny Borrell he of Razorlight fame was having some difficulty keeping his kecks up at Reading yesterday!. Mind you I doubt the ladies would complain about that too much.

But is it offensive if you're wearing boxers? I don't see it myself. If this goes through, who decides what is 'decent'? What if I decide I find nuns outfits offensive? Who's to say I'm less offended by that than others are by underpants?

Not that I have a problem with authority right now or anything......

why? don't get me wrong, i think some of the "yoof" who adopt this style of pant-wearing look ree dick you louse, but it's hardly a public offense that needs to be moderated!

i just can't see the point of fat birds in leggings, or blokes with long hair, or kids with caps balanced on their head rather than seated properly - but that's hardly grounds to make it illegal! lol..

Why ?

well just because .. I was feeling extreme that day lol

However I do wonder what the accident statistics are attributing causes to dodgily worn jeans or trousers .. I wonder where you could find that sort of info ?

hm I know "why"?

just 'cos I'm me I suppose

wow, the difference in policing here and where i used to live is immense.

example.

when i was a younger lass me and my friends used to drink in the park from about 10am and even though some of then got so inebriated they seemed to lose all desire for clothing and morals, the police never cared. in fact they used to drive past and wolf whistle =S

sounds like you've got a good case though tek monkey, a great injustice. best of luck with it xxx

Stafford itself didn't used to be as bad as it is now. 10 years ago, we used to sit in St Mary's churchyard with various beverages and the police used to give us a friendly nod and say hello as they wandered past. At no point was I requested to surrender my half bottle of Sainsbury's own brand whisky.
