The Bear Inn on Greengate St is set to reopen as 'The Bear Grill' on Tuesday 23rd June. I was sent a Word doc with the menu etc so here's all the info:

Welcome to The Bear Grill

We’re the little cub of The Lewis Partnership, but we certainly don’t want to be a grizzly bunch, more a happy & jolly fun loving team here to look after you. The perfect place to enjoy a coffee, cocktail or just some good burgers.

All our beef burgers are 100% beef - aged for a minimum of 28 days. We’re proud to source the majority of our ingredients from Staffordshire.

Our burgers are served on a fresh toasted floured bap with little gem lettuce, beef tomato, red onion, mayo, French fries & chunky coleslaw, unless stated differently. Upgrade to curly fries for 50p.

If you prefer your burger with a few less calories we are happy to substitute the toasted floured bap & French fries with a green salad.

yeah, i'm quite interested to see what this place is like.. i remember the bear being a pretty rough dive years ago, and it did pretty well at changing this image after the refurb.. by the sounds of things, this latest makeover will kick it up a notch further still!

i'm really glad to see a posh burger joint in stafford :)

I have fond memories of the old stylee "Bear", being locked in after hours with the bar staff.
Pubs aren't what they used to be.

you're in luck.. i went last night, and it's very light and welcoming inside! not bright like the hogshead was (ugh), just light decor, nice furniture, etc. :)
