Sounds like the Wolseley Arms to me, though (maybe not, as) I'm sure there was mention some time ago about building on and near by, in the name of development, am I right?

Possible for the Lewis Partnership to have a look at, I know they're looking for another place to make good.

Popped in Saturday evening, couldn't wait for a chicken burger!

No tables free at 6:30, I (idiot) should have booked.
Nearly sat down aswell as they're weren't any reserved signs up, I checked to be told it's a no go.

Shame they're selling up.

Visited The Post House instead and had the gammon, not as good as the Dog & Doublet's gammon (best ever, ever) it has to be said, but a good price at £9.99 for 2 courses.

...be in soon though 'Bear!

On my visit to Cosford, I noticed this very large* model of a Tu 95, NATO code-name "Bear". Time for a more up-to-date image?

You might need to allow it to swing into the wind...

Listing properties does not always constitute a real intention to sell. I know several business owners in Stafford who will list their current location to see what offers are available. They don't necessarily have the intention to sell, but should a great offer come along then they'd consider taking it.

Seeing a listing doesn't mean the business is in trouble or the owners want to shut it all down. They might just be seeing what offers are out there.

innit, i remember i made a similar incorrect assumption when i saw a commerical listing for the building narvana resides in..

i went into the bear grill a couple of weeks ago.. i was headed for the market vaults, not realising they didn't serve food on a monday, so when i was denied my heart attack in a bun i went to the bear instead.. i mentioned the "closing" rumours to the lovely young people behind the bar, and they said they had heard similar rumours but it was all nonsense.. the bear has been taking staff on, in fact, so i dare say it's doing rather well!

not surprised, when they serve this sort of shenanigan:

My wife and I visited the Bear last Friday, we hadn't booked but was hoping to try our luck. Unsurprisingly we couldn't get a table. The place was heaving.

The very nice man that broke the bad news to us was extremely nice and professional, so much so we decided to book the wife's birthday meal there for 8 people next Saturday. Looking forward to it already.

Heading The Bear with a group from work tonight, for a retirement do. We had to pre-order. Can't for the life of me remember what I ordered.
I shall be the quiet one in the corner.........
