Enjoyed the British Burger tonight, .....

Whats British about it?

It's not for lightweights.

It is a burger with a topping of roast beef and yorkshire pudding, with an added layer of sausage, bacon, egg, black pudding and baked beans and a side dish of fish and chips.

Extras include bubble and squeak, bangers and mash, toad in the hole or dainty sandwiches with the crusts cut off and some posh cake.

On the edge of the plate you will find steak and kidney pudding and a pickled egg.

basil

don't mention the blinds
More to the point, what was the Führer doing walking the streets of Stafford ?.....

Enjoying a drop of red.
Either way, it's a bit of a USP for the Swan.

The Swan Hotel: where Mein Kampf was written.

Should get the place flooded with Brexiteers.

@ChrisLewis my fee, should you choose to adopt this spectacular promotional idea, will be moderately reasonable.

I went to the Bear Grill last week and I didn't like the black wall because I preferred the flower. However, I didn't realise it was work in progress and I have now seen the finished product on facebook.

It is certainly different and quite unusual.

I don't know whether I should start an Ego thread because I've booked a meal there when it opens at Tumbledown Farm.

I went to the Bear Grill tonight where we were attended by extremely friendly and smiley staff throughout our meal. I had the Blue Monday (on a Wednesday), which was perfectly cooked, presented well and tasted great. However, my only issue was that I could hardly taste the cheese. I did mention this to the woman on the FOH and she said that the mushroom tends to soak up all the melted cheese but that she would mention this to the chef. As there are two (very thick and juicy) patties in the bun, it might be useful to give people the option of whether they want the cheese putting between those, as I would imagine they're slower at completely soaking up the cheese?

At the end, I had to pay by card as I had no cash on me, but there was no option to adding gratuity to the final bill using the card machine. I used to see this option available elsewhere but is this not available any longer?

Anyway, it was a lovely meal and atmosphere (loved the music, which was just at the right volume) and all the staff were very professional and friendly and a credit to the whole Lewis team.

In fact, we ate over four hours ago and I'm still not interested in eating anything else just yet, and I'm a human dustbin.

I never use the option to add the gratuity to the bill via the card machine since I heard of a few businesses that, due to how the payment was processed, weren't passing the tips on to the staff
I always leave cash

We also always pay tips in cash for the same reason although I do believe that the Lewis partnership do pay the staff the tips whether they are cash or card.

Some businesses don't though.

We had a lovely lunch in there last Friday and were very impressed by the staff and their handling of an exceedingly rude and grumpy couple who were sat near us.

The nachos were some of the nicest I've eaten
