I felt lucky today and I was right, it was a liver day. I had just snuck in at the end of the lunchtime session or I would have been tempted to have a go at another one - bloody lovely.

Also, my friend Charlie often goes on a Friday, nice chap.

Well, I thought I could smell liver today, so I headed out, but I was mistaken, so I had the plaice instead - and very nice it was, too.

Just in the background was the scene of the excitement referred to elsewhere....

Today, I had the lamb steak - very nice, just the right level of mintiness..

..and without the added excitement of last week's visit.

This is a fair representation of the general run of "Specials" - there will be daily variation, to some degree.

Hi just joined here and live eating out and finding new places to try. I discovered the Greyhound a couple of moths ago and have returned several times. The menu is very extensive and staff lovely and friendly. I too champion the steak & Abbot ale pie.....very rich. The carvery is also lovely. sWerved on a Sunday till 4pm but go early for the extras like stuffing, crackling as they do run out. There's always a queue of regulars.

I haven't tried the carvery, in fact, I've only ever been once at the weekend. It's a bit less hectic in the week, I find.

If you do the carvery again soon, a picture for the gallery here wouldn't go amiss.

Eek I just realised I made my first huge boo boo confusing the Greyhound at Sandon with Burston I was referring to Sandon, silly me, but will definitely now try Burston too as love a good steak pie. Those who do may like to try Sandon too.

I have this problem a lot. Never remember the name or the location the following day.

Nothing to do with the amount of wine consumed though :ohno:

I tried to plan my consumption. I hoped the injection I had when I was at school might have helped but you should see the crap I've been coughing up over the last couple of days.
